This is a really interesting, really ambitious book. I enjoyed it, even as I spent a lot of time analyzing it on a meta level, because some of the choices really surprised me, and I just couldn't decide whether they helped or hurt the book.

I really liked the beginning and the end was satisfying. However, I almost gave up on it about halfway through it. I liked the main characters of the story quite a bit but I thought that a few of the major supporting characters could use a little more 'fleshing out'. The middle was a little rough and didn't exactly flow but overall, it was a decent read.
