The only reason I'm giving this book 3 stars and not 2 is because of Michele Jaffe's story. LOVED it. The book was on a serious downward spiral for me until her story. I read the whole thing with out putting the book down once, which is saying a lot because I wasn't able to finish any of the others in one sitting. I would start reading and then just somehow I'd find myself doing something else with the book nowhere around me. So, I finally got the back story or beginning of the story of Madison Avery. Always wondered why it wasn't given in the first book, now I know it was given, just in another book. Still don't like the 'son of a dead puppy' comments though. They just will not grow on me.
I am on the fence about Meg Cabot. Going to give some of her other stories a try.
I soooo wanted to reach into the book and just slap the main character in 'The Corsage'. I have nothing nice to say about this story and honestly I don't feel like working myself up over it, I'll get to that state when I discuss Stephanie Meyers story.
Loved, loved, loved Michele Jaffe's "Kiss and Tell". Thank you for putting this story in the book cause if I had gotten to Meyers story without it I would be even more disgusted than I am. Jaffe is funny and witty, she gave a good twist in the story and she has me begging for more.
Now, on to 'Hell on Earth'. That is exactly where I was as I was reading this story. I wanted something to drop out of the sky and peg me on the head & knock me out so I didn't have to read another word. Of course I couldn't put the damn thing down or just stop on my own, had to continue to the end in hope that the Meyer's I love to read was in there somewhere. She wasn't. She wrote this either in a coma or possessed by something (a demon maybe - a demon that wants readers to suffer). I liked Twilight. I enjoyed the books that followed too. I was fortunate enough to step back into YA books with her novels so I wasn't tween-love-eternal-romance-at-just-one-look-ed out. I did enjoy the saga. This, sucked. Oh, there was a sweet message behind it, I don't care, the story sucked. Period. But at least I found Jaffe. :) For that I can smile.
So, eh, the book on a whole wasn't for me. BUT as always, read it yourself and make your own conclusions. ...more

This is an anthology of 5 stories that have prom night as the theme. Authors are Meg Cabot, Lauren Myracle, Kim Harrison, Michelle Jaffe, and Stephenie Meyer. I was excited to see these authors together in one book.

I found that most of the stories rated about 3 out of 5 stars.

Honorable mentions go to Kim Harrison's story - Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper. This was an original story, with a well developed character.

The other story I liked was Kiss and Tell by Michelle Jaffe.

I must admit that I was only interested in, and only read the Kim Harrison part, Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper. If you are going to read that series (Madison Avery Trilogy), I would recommend this.

Like any anthology, some stories are 5 stars, some are far less. Still, a great theme for a horror anthology and enjoyable for anyone who has suffered through prom dresses, bad punch and corsages.
