I wasn't sure how I felt about this book at first. However it did not take me long to realize why I was so unsure. The narrator has the most annoying kid voice. She sounded very immature. Once I got past the narrator's lack of vocal skills I started to get into the story. Especially when the narrator started using the male voices. (It wasn't so high-pitched and squeaky).

Chloe is going to school in her normal high school and has since she was a little girl seen ghosts. For the longest time she h I wasn't sure how I felt about this book at first. However it did not take me long to realize why I was so unsure. The narrator has the most annoying kid voice. She sounded very immature. Chloe is going to school in her normal high school and has since she was a little girl seen ghosts. For the longest time she had stopped seeing them. Then all of a sudden one day on her way to school she started seeing them again when she started her monthly cycles. With crazy ghosts chasing her, people start to think that she is crazy and so she is sentenced to go to a group home for at least two weeks before she can return to school. Her family finds Lyle House a home for "special" kids who seem to be normal, but for some reason have some sort of mental illness or another. She soon realizes that she is no the only actual person who has a special ability, but that all the kids in the house seem to. As she starts to learn more and exercise her ability to communicate with ghosts, she begins to learn the many bad things that have happened at Lyle House.

This book was mostly moving along for a chunk of the book. I am excited to see what happens in the next book considering that they left it in such a cliffhanger and I hate when I am left like that.

Chloe is a unique and sweet girl. However she is almost too sweet. She is so nice that she almost seems unreal. That is she would seem unreal if I didn't have friends that were actually like she is. Nothing but a nice person. Has the hardest time being mean to anybody, and puts their full trust in the person. This is exactly who Chloe is and seems to be the type of person that I would become best friends with. This is because that is how all my really good friends are. She is the type of person that you can always rely on. I think Tori is the conceited, all-about-me bitch. Rae is someone who is just looking to find herself and her place in this world, but it really can't be blamed that she should feel this way. Simon and Derek are some really great guys. Derek is actually the one that I fell for. Yes, I know, he is supposed to be the ugly one. However, he is also always the nice one and the one always there to be honest and blunt with you unless it will put you in harm's way or if it would make you worry about him. He tries to put all the worries off of others and take all the worries for himself. Simon is the guy that is in my opinion the follower. I am not really sure how I feel about him. He is not really amazing, but I wouldn't totally knock him off either.

This book is a 4 stars leaning toward a 3.5. I am looking forward to reading what is in the next installment. ...more

Good book. Surprisingly there isn't a lot of "woe is me!" which I really appreciate. I suggest reading "Dangerous" first before reading this... That gives the background of Simon and Derek...

Don't expect an ending though... This book makes you want to read the next one right away... ...more

Definitely a quick easy read. I LOVED this book. Though it was somewhat of a set up book, the next two are COMPLETELY worth it. I honestly picked up this book randomly because I thought the cover was gorgeous and the story itself is even more fantastic.
