There's a quote from Finn that I find to be particularly appropriate, when thinking about what I wanted from this series:

Even though I read this without reading the first book in the series (Song of Scarabaeus) I was still able to thoroughly enjoy this story! Talking in terms of programming, this book reminded me of the test driven development of applications :) It's a way of development that goes this way: First you write the test for a program and its functions, and then you write the program itself. It's a hard way and requires a lot of patience from programmers, but in the end you will achieve the application which satisfies all of your requirements. The same method was applied here to the planets terraforming.
