I was hesitant to continue with this series, but when it was offered on sale I couldn't pass it up. MacKayla, or Mac as she likes to be called, has encountered quite a bit of craziness after traveling to Ireland to find answers in her sister's murder. I am still not very invested in this series. Since everyone says each book gets better, I will continue to read these but I'm finding my expectations dropping.
The books did not present much forward movement. It really didn't develop the overall plot either. Instead, this book focuses on MacKayla making quite a few mistakes and finding herself in more and more trouble. Another FINISHED urban fantasy and it is a good one. I am in the 3rd book only, but I knew from the first paragraph of the first book this one would keep me up at night (reading). Well written, well developed,intriguing characters who, despite Moning's "romances with Highlanders" books and the cover design which has nothing to do with the book, do NOT jump into bed with everyone. I really enjoyed this second installment of this vastly popular fever series. Finally, some questions answered and some more to reveal. The main character is quickly developing a backbone with new and different priorities. I have to admit, some of it was painful to read, but necessary to the storyline. I can't wait for the next one, Faefever to arrive!
