about 3 1/2 - 4 stars. Not as action packed as previous books, but really touched on most everyone in the series. Talks about D, Tohr (who I'd forgotten about) is in it here & there, Wrath is in it a little, even Rhev, and talks about the past of many of them. This books is mostly about V, but it's also about Dr. Manny (Jane's old co-worker) and Payne. It's also about Qhuinn & Blay, and V & Butch. So much going on (almost too much at times) personally with the characters, and a touch too little ...more

I loved Manny and Payne. I'm giving this 4*s mainly just for them. My biggest criticism is that I wish there had been more of them. It felt like they were sidelined in their own book. It would go chapters in between hearing from them. The rest of the book, meh, I'm not sure when they turned into the Emo Dagger Brotherhood but I've never seen so many guys crying, wringing their hands over their "one true love" and in general over-sharing their feelings. Somehow I thought Payne would have a much different personality than how she was portrayed in this book. I dunno. It wasn't the worst book I've read but I'm glad I just borrowed it for the library instead of buying it. I am looking forward to Thorment's book and Blay and Qhuinn's HEA. Fell just a little flat for the main characters to me. However I loved that we got to go back to see Jane & V. I often wonder about the happily ever afters weather they really come true.
