My rating is a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I had to step back and marinate on my thoughts about this book right after I finished.

Well, being the BDB fan-addict that I am, I took Lover Unleashed release day off from work (what? don't look at me crazy, you know you would too if you could) so I can read unhindered all day. I started early Tuesday morning and finished it early Tuesday evening. Was it worth it? hmmm

I love seeing into the BDB world. I love hearing about each of their lives and this is what this book seems like to me. A nice love story for Payne and Manny (love him). And a look at V/Jane/Butch story a bit about Quinn/Saxton/Blaylock.

There was a ton of sex in this book all over the place but not a lot of action. Maybe I have come to expect too much from each book. I got so excited when all the brothers came into the clinic. I thought that maybe we would get some good dialoge from the group b ...more

Warning: This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride! Read it with a box of kleenex handy and be prepared to have your heart broken! IT'S THAT AMAZING!

This was a highly anticipated release, and as always, J.R. Ward didn't disappoint me. This book was amazing! From the beginning I felt drawn in to the story and found myself not wanting to put it down (even though I had to because of mundane things like, ohhh say, work).

The great thing about this series is how easy it is to fall into step with the characters and their world without needing much back story to get me up to speed. Each of their voices and personalities are unique and easily identifiable. I think I missed the banter between them all the most, but this story took a surprising turn for me with some of the characters.

This story had a lot more to do wit I really missed the Brothers and I guess I didn't know how much until I started reading this story. The great thing about this series is how easy it is to fall into step with the characters and their world without needing much back story to get me up to speed. Each of their voices and personalities are unique and easily identifiable. I think I missed the banter between them all the most, but this story took a surprising turn for me with some of the characters.

This story had a lot more to do with V and his issues than it does with Payne or even Manny. V turned into a real jerk and I had to give a lot of respect to Jane for staying with the guy. Everything turned out great for them in the end and V even announced becoming officially mated to Jane.

The romance between Payne and Manny was really sweet, but not as hot as I would've liked it to be. Payne had such a feisty and defiant attitude when she was first introduced that I was expecting to see more of that here in her story, but I actually grew to like her and understand her more here in this story. I was wondering how Manny was going to get his in to the Brotherhood mansion like Butch did and I'm still wondering how everything will turn out, but it sounds like their will be another vampiric blood relation to play on.

Quinn is in a steep decline physically, emotionally, and mentally and although Layla is trying valiantly to keep him together it's obviously never going to be enough. At the very least he has come clean to her and relieved himself of the total burden of his secret. He's also made it clear that him and Layla can't be anything more than friends. Now there's just that little thing about the dream or vision that he had that has to do with possibly getting Layla pregnant... interesting.

Xcor and his band of bastards is an interesting addition and should make a good plot twist in the next book. Wasn't sure at first what they're purpose was until I figured in Payne's role to their history, so it takes some reading to figure them out and then of course they are still a bit of mystery by the end.

Unfortunately, I will have to admit to skimming some of the story. There was just some instances where it didn't hold my attention and if there isn't enough dialogue then it's easy for me to lose focus and want to move ahead. At this point, I'm thinking the next book will be better than this one since Xcor's threat is becoming more solidified and who knows where the Omega and his Lessers will come in to play while the Brotherhood is busy fighting physical and political attacks from some of their own. There are still some unanswered questions from the revelations that came at the end of John's book and I imagine Xhex would have lot's of her own questions as well. So now once again we wait to see what the very unpredictable J.R. Ward will do next. ...more

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! TRUE?? Ohh how I love this series!!!
The Warden kicked a** with another outstanding story of the Brothers! Well, sister in this case. They're as bad a** as always & Vishous takes the lead. Finding his twin sister Payne the medical help she needs for her injury is not what V planned on while meeting Payne for the first time. So, keeping her away from Dr. Manuel Manello (Manny)who's not only her surgeon but wants to "play" doctor with her as well puts V on the edge. Man ...more

When it comes to books as popular as this one, there is no need to do a regular review. Everyone and their mother has posted reviews on it, and if you are a fan of this series you are going to read this book no matter what anyone says. If you haven’t read the series yet, you wouldn’t start with this one any way. So, I am going to talk why I love this series and why you should try it!

The Good: Anytime I get to see the BDB boys and girls is a good time. I was very happy to see Payne and Manny get their HEA and Specially to see Vishous get some closure. A lot of emotions in the air, my heart broke, I cried and enjoyed every minute!

The Bad: It felt more like V’s story than Payne and Manny`s and I felt like things got wrapped up too nicely for Payne and Manny. It felt too easy =/

While reading this book I've got this feeling, that personages started to look alike, to sound alike, to think alike. The same phrases and the way of speaking and thinking gave me the wild idea that if the names of characters were mixed up, readers just wouldn't notice. ...more
