Shelves: vampires, wtf-i-can-t-even

Usually after reading a BDB book I do a breakdown of good, bad and ugly. Not so this time. This book broke my brain in so many ways I feel like Manny after he got his memories wiped the second time. Who am I and WTF is going on? At least I'm not addicted to this crack anymore! Wish there was a half star option. More a two and a half star read.

I enjoyed this book, but I felt like it was supposed to be Manny and Payne's story and we got a lot more of Jane and V - I didn't mind so much because the story was good and I liked what happened/where Ward went with it, but I felt like Manny and Payne got a little short changed. The development between Butch and V was good - it answered some of questions that were hanging around about them.

It's the WARDen - I'm only ever gonna give it five stars! Payne and Manny's story was so sweet, and the smexing was very hot! Loved it. When Manny was first in the books I suspected he was Butch's father, just because he was a doctor and ... oh, I dunno. The thought crossed my mind. But now that his background is out there I hope Ward does more with it. I would love to see him become ... more. (Trying not to spoil, here.)

Another good one from Ms. Ward. Payne and Manny were sweet, but I loved the face time V got in this one. It was like a re-up of his relationship with Jane and to some extent Butch.

Somehow I thought Payne would have a much different personality than how she was portrayed in this book. I dunno. It wasn't the worst book I've read but I'm glad I just borrowed it for the library instead of buying it. I am looking forward to Thorment's book and Blay and Qhuinn's HEA. Fell just a little flat for the main characters to me. However I loved that we got to go back to see Jane & V. I often wonder about the happily ever afters weather they really come true.
