I read Carrie Vaughn's blog entries on Genreality and decided to give her urban fantasy novel a try. I've been a little burned out on urban fantasy of late and have been reading a lot of horror instead. But I have heard a lot of good things about this series, so I grabbed up the first novel.

I'll be honest. I wasn't too keen on the first half of the book (that may be due to my burnout on the genre). But I kept reading and I'm so glad I did. By the end, I was cheering Kitty on and definitely engag

I dont normally ready first person books, but this was recommended and I decided to tough it out. I was engrossed with the book after the first chapter loving how each character was molded throughout. I recommend if someone doesn't want a completely serious read. Finished the book in one night. ...more

this book was pretty cool. i just realised i'd read it ages ago and didn't write anything down for it! hell it was still in my tbr list! any way i find that kitty reminds me of mercedes thompson in some ways. you know the whole stay out of evryones way yet fate has other ideas(oh and the fact she is a changed werewolf). i love how kitty though this book grows up (so to speak). and i'd so love to find out if anything does eventuate with cormac. ...more
A book away from an episode of hoarders
It started out interesting but I wasn't real fond of the main character. As the story progressed, I could see her growth and she grew on me as well. I figured out the identity of the big bad wolf about three chapters before the protagonist did. It's a series and I'm happy to read the next book. ...more

I loved this book! I am not sure why I waited so long to read this series but I devoured it! On to the next one.
