I really liked this book. It was a lot spicier then I thought but that's okay. If you don't like smut then maybe this book won't be for you.

I like Blackwell's character a lot. I was so so with Ophelia's character that annoyed me. For someone so young she was kind of stuffy. I forgot she was younger then she was. I liked her sister well enough but she seemed a very spoiled.

4.5 stars This romantasy features a gothic necromancer in New Orleans that takes on a haunted house, last person standing contest to save her sister. Ophelia is such a strong character, battling her self doubt and "Shadow voice" OCD while fighting through the levels of Phantasma. Of course, the love interest is fascinating, as well, with such mystery around him not revealed until the very end. I found this book totally bingeable, and I can't wait for Genevieve's book. ...more
