I read this one and liked bits of it. I wanted more fantasy and it felt more YA than I'd expected. I guessed "the heart" of the story very early on, which took away the anticipation of the reveal and I suspected the twist. That said, if book 2 was out now, I'd likely read it, especially since they're KU loaners. 🤪
Thanks Steph for your review.I added mine today, but I have to agree with you I loved bits of it but it felt quite superficial even though the outline was very promising... I mean a Grimm necromancer entering a haunted manor with phantoms and all kinds of creatures in there.... That ! Could have been fantastic. It was still good and I will read the second one (one day...potentially) but it wasn't great
