I loved it. Loved, loved, loved, lovedlovedlovedLOVED it. So much so that I'm jumping back to the first Wilmington book for a re-read of that one and this one. Will write a real review after that. Except to say: IA are setting up something really exciting in this series - Kate and Curran not under siege, having the time and space to create the life they want, with the people they want. I am all in for that!

Kate & Curran get an invitation to come help out the victims of a mysterious evil in the forest up north.

When they hear the details, they make a decision to accept 82 acres of forest and have fun ridding Pendleton of the evil inhabiting the forest. Magic, swordplay, weird shifters, claiming land, mages & hunters, some of which are acting against their will.

Kate & Curran are both Mad. Conlan is learning & training. The new Keep will be very interesting, not just for shifters but for everyone that ...more

I love being back in this world! Kate and Curran are asked to help a community claimed by magic they’ve never seen before. Although Kate is resistant, they are both pulled toward helping and leading people. This book sets up some great potential for future stories…I can’t wait!
