That was a great read. The book is thick, but full of so much! I loved Rehvenge and Ehlena, although I think Ms. Ward made Rehvenge almost too sweet in this book. I liked him before, but he was less of a bad-ass and more of a sweetheart in Lover Avenged. I suppose it was her way of making a drug lord pimp symphath into a hero. I liked the interaction between Wrath and Beth, especially since their story wasn't all that for me. It was nice to see them interact now that Ms. Ward has her groove on. ...more

I love this series of books but the parts with the lessers don't interest me. If there was less of that then the book would have gotten 5 starts from me.

Past me was an idiot. Can't be less than 5 stars. I am a way different reader now. Understanding the enemy is an important part of the story. ...more

I have to admit, it took me a while to get into this book but after a few chapters I couldn't put it down. I really have to commend the way Ward has made us fall in love with such unsympathetic characters (ha! no pun initially intended), but by the end of this book I was crying along with Rhev. I grew to love Xhex too, and can't wait to find out what happens in the next book.
One of my favourites in the series, I think. ...more
