I had this book sitting on my TBR for a while, but I wasn´t too compelled to read it because, quite frankly, vampires were always a bit too creepy for me. Anyway, I was finally convinced to give it a try and, thankfully, I was not disappointed. :)
I confess that the whole bloodsucking stuff is still kinda creepy to me - I know some people find it sexy, but I just don´t get it -, so I thank J.R. Ward for toning it down and not making such a big deal out of it. These BDB vampires are completely ...more

Well holy crap. It lived up to the hype. This book was delicious. Great characters, great world building, and... here's where I really have to give kudos. I'm generally irritated by PNR because I hate the rotating main characters. Generally, the central characters of the first book, being the most developed ones, are the ones I love best and I'd rather just go on with their story in successive novels. But something about the Brothers... I am THRILLED to go on and see their HEA.

Hmm... just finished the second part of this two part recording and it wasn't the end of the book. Tohr just reported that he'd seen Haver's ask Z to kill Wrath. Um... will have to check with audible to find out what's wrong with the recording.

Wow - really enjoyed this book. Can understand now why everyone goes on about this series. I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read the rest.

Wrath is the last purebred vampire on the planet. After watching his parents slaughtered by members of the evil Lessening Society, Wrath found himself the reluctant king and leader of a band of warriors known as the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Now he's mourning the loss of his friend and warrior Darius, and finds himself with another unexpected responsibility. Darius has left a half-breed daughter, Beth, and he needs Wrath to protect her.

Decided to read this again as my current read (Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger) was not fitting my current mood.
Just as good as I remembered it. I don't care for the pieces that are from the lesser's point of view... But it gives context which is good. Often the 'bad guys' are kinda just not filled in but this gives like the behind the scenes action which I think is good. It's just that they bore me lol. I'm like, 'okay, let's go ahead and wipe them all out cuz I'm tired of reading about them'.

Wow. I devoured this book! It was written very well, the new additions to the genre in vampire lore extremely interesting and exciting. I loved all the characters, and though it switched from character to character, I didn't find myself minding, in fact, I really enjoy it and relish the need to devour the rest of the series! Highly recommended!!
