I pulled to a stop in front of a sprawling mansion, checked the address the lawyer gave me, then glanced at the mansion again, even more confused than I'd been when I first got the call.

Defiance learns she is magical when she inherits a house right after her divorce

What I enjoyed:
* The house and the cat are great

What could have been better:
* Defiance doesn't seem to act her age of 44 (mentioned soooo many times). She makes stupid decisions and procrastinates important things (view spoiler)

She let her ex & his mother walk all over her, but has 2 dads who would've backed her all day long. Just stupid.

The second half of the book saw her improve, though still thinking stupid a lot of the time.

The story finally had so
