As usual Nalini Singh has done a wonderful job of building a world with amazing characters and amazing stories. Why only 4 stars then you ask? Well, I wish there had been more character building. I wanted more details of Elena's past, and also Raphael's. I get the feeling that we will get more of that later, but it seems like that should have been a part of the opener.

Yeah, no. Fuck this. Literally right after this scene, when she fought him off and feels so angry and violated, he says her reaction will "force him to hurt her".

Re-read but the first time for this red cover edition.

Doing a series read for SOS group.

Amazing to think I first read this book in 2009, and its still just as good. A very unique take on Angels & Vamps, not to mention the Hunters.

Love Elena & Raphael together and its amazing how the vamps also want to get close to Elena, she's so different to everyone who fawns over them.

And ends on a massive twist, not a cliffhanger, but I remember reading it the first time and wanting book 2 right away. ...more

I liked this book a lot, I couldn't give it anymore that 3 stars because I felt it was lacking something, I'm not sure what, but that has not stopped me from starting the next book...This series came highly recommended by several people so I have no worries that the other books in this series will only get better. ...more
