Second read-through (March 14 - 16, 2012):
Glad I decided to reread this before catching up with books 3 and 4; this story was pitch perfect. It's just as amazing as I remember it; perhaps moreso, because I was still enthralled whilst knowing what the outcomes would be. Singh had several books under her belt before she wrote this tale, so it's not surprising that it suffers from no weaknesses common to series openers. Love it!

It's been a long time since I first read this book that I remembered very little about it. I remember liking it, but for some reason I never got to continue the series. The publication of the sixth book not long ago, however, and the fact that the series is constantly mentioned as one of the favorites of the genre, made me want to re-read the first book and get re-acquainted with Elena's world.

Original, with interesting characters and a lot of promise for the future books, this was a fun audiobo ...more

Great start to the series, liked this a lot more than I liked whatever the first book was in Psy-Changlings. I didnt continue that series but I will be continuing this one.

I enjoyed the angels and the societal elements we saw in this book, and quite liked Elena and Raphael, and Sara and Ransom and Dmitri and oh who am I kidding, I liked just about everybody for one reason or another. Sure, it wasnt all good all of the time, but did keep me hooked right til the end.
