This was so good and potato chippy. I could not put it down.

Mercy's friend Samuel is having trouble with being a wolf and his wolf takes over. Her friend Finn is missing. Someone in the pack is making trouble for her. She has a lot to deal with but does it with her usual bluntness and flair. So looking forward to the next book. ...more

Patricia Briggs is one of my favourite authors so really I went into this knowing I'd love it, which I did. A lot. I love Mercy Thompsons' voice in these books and I love how she isn't perfect, screws up at times and has to deal with the consequences of such. Though in this she did tend to get away with a little more than she usually would but then the relationships she's dealing with have also changed drastically which she is trying to keep up with.

Mercy remains my favorite UF heroine. I was simultaneously tearing through this book because I didn't want to put it down and I was trying to slow myself down to make it last. I love the growing relationship between Mercy and Adam, as well as the developing relationships between Mercy and the pack. I was also totally emotionally involved with Samuel's struggles. It was nice to have the book set at home after the departure with the last one. Mercy is working on getting Adam's pack to accept her when she gets mixed up with the fae again.

What I enjoyed:
* Mercy and Adam's relationship growth

* Getting more insight into Adam's pack
* Learning more about the fae

Shelves: wishlist

The begining was slow and the mushy love and werewolf stuff was kind of bleh, but once the action started it was cool. My favorite vampire was not in it :p, but still I liked the book.
