Mercy Thompson is a walker, a coyote. Her father died before she gave birth and her mother made the decision to allow the Marrock, alpha of the werewolves to raise her daughter, because let's ace it how can a human woman raise a wild coyote? Mercy ends up being raised by werewolves. But she doesn't really belong. She left when she 16 years old to have her own life, away from the werewolves but just keeps getting pulled into the world of the werewolves.

I discovered that I'd never finished this series so I'm rereading the series from the beginning.

A lot can happen in 12 years and taste as well as preference change sometimes. I still like Mercy but I cannot stop comparing the story to other books I have read and I feel we get a lot of telling not showing and information clusters that I could have done without. It ruined the flow for me and I had a harder time connecting with the characters t ...more
