Boudin Balls - made of Boudin (pork sausage, rice, Cajun spices) - remove the casing, roll it into balls and deep fry them.

★★★★½ (This is a review of the audiobook.) Nicely narrated by Khristine Hvam, who is one of my favorite readers; I usually give her an excellent. However, I must admit, this is an earlier performance by her, and I think she is better as the story goes along (and she gets more into it?), as opposed to the beginning. Also, I did listen at 1.5 speed.

I'm coming late to the Skinwalker party, seems like most of my friends have already read this series.

Overall I enjoyed Jane Yellowrock. I found I liked that she had to figure out who the bad guy was, whilst sidestepping all the vamp politics, and keeping her own nature a secret. Don't get me wrong, she kicked major ass in a martial arts, have lots of knives kinda way.

I did like the Jane vs Beast parts, though as others have said, sometimes it was a bit hard to understand which of them was speak ...more

I waffled between 3 and 4 stars, finally settling on 3.5 (and therefore rounding up to 4). It took me a bit of time to get used to the writing style, especially when "Beast" was in charge. I'm not as enamored of Jane Yellowrock as I am with other characters in different UF series. Overall though, fairly compelling characters and an interesting storyline got me hooked enough to finish. A very exciting first-in-series! Jane Yellowrock is a rather ambiguous character, and tough. She also has her "soft" side, but it's very carefully guarded. She has 10-days to hunt down a rogue vampire (will lose her bonus if it takes longer), and uses her unique skills to do so, with overly curious folks tracking her as well. The action is fast and interesting. The book's pace is just right, and the characters are well-developed and interesting, without being clear-cut good/bad-guys. Looking for ...more

So I found a new favorite urban fantasy series😁❤️ This book had everything in it I love vampires, a kickass heroine, and a sexy love interest. And don’t get me started on the ending of this book. I most definitely have to read the next one very very soon. I gotta know more lol
