This is a tough one for me to rate, because there was a B-plot in the first half that was utterly stupid, and I really came close to DNF.

Fortunately, that resolved relatively quickly, and the rest was sharp, engaging, and pushed the overall story forward in a brilliant way. But honestly, this book felt like it was 5 plots rolled into a single book. Some of them were brilliant, some were okay, and then the one I mentioned above - (view spoiler)

This month, I've thoroughly enjoyed binging this series; I'm sad I've caught up and have to wait for book 5, Heart of Shadows. I'm thrilled there are no more secrets between Alice, Sean & Malcolm. I'm ready for the battle to come!
