I wasn't in love with the love triangle that came up in this one, but I hope that's just a blip - it seems to have resolved, and Sean and Alice seem to be in a solid place.

Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Man, Alice is a badass when she really uses her power.

Alice is having a bit of a hard time after the events in book 1. Hitting the bottle, not eating, not sleeping, but still working and closing cases.

Mark Dunlap, her old boss, comes to her with a case of missing "working girls" and it turns out more than just women have been taken. Seems like the cops have been dismissing the cases so no one is investigating them, but the rumour mill is blaming the vamps.

Trent Lake, the SPEMA agent, seems to be popping up around Alice, also Charles, from the Vampi
