I generally really enjoy Suzanne Wright, and this was no exception. I was even surprised at who was behind the nefarious shit, so that was fun!

This dragged. I skimmed quite a bit in the second half and don’t think I missed anything. Characters from previous books were just randomly shoehorned in. The plot was convoluted. I don’t need to read anymore of this series.

It has been so long since I read a Suzanne Wright book that I forgot how much I fucking love her shifter books. I am so happy to finally be back and reading these books. And WHEN HE'S DARK, the first in her new shifter series, was fucking amazing! It has been so long since I read a Suzanne Wright book that I forgot how much I fucking love her shifter books. I am so happy to finally be back and reading these books. And WHEN HE'S DARK, the first in her new shifter series, was fucking amazing! In a sense this is another spin-off from her previous two series. We're focusing on a completely different pack since everyone from the Phoenix Pack and the Mercury Pack has found their mate.

If you remember Dominic and Mila (who wouldn't) from their book, Untamed Delights, we are following Mila's pack, the Olympus Pride and her family. Now I am kicking myself because I cannot remember much from Dominic and Mila's book. I guess it's to be expected since I haven't read a Suzanne Wright book since 2019 so it's been a while. But after reading WHEN HE'S DARK I definitely need to re-read their book because I fucking love the Olympus Pride and Mila's family!

But after all that babbling on, let's get into this amazing book. We have our heroine, Bree who has been in love with Alex (Mila's brother) since she was fourteen, but Alex is someone she believes she can never have as he's the cousin of Paxton, her psychotic predestined mate, who is rumored to be dead. But Bree finds herself with a bit of trouble on her hands in the form of attempted kidnappings and clues that point out that her mate may not actually be dead.

“The truth? Being tied into a mating with a man like me is not going to be an easy ride for you. I’m not going to be easy. We haven’t been together long enough for you to get an idea of just how much of a pain in your ass I’ll be. But I’m not going to behave and walk away if you tell me you’re not ready for this. I’m too damn selfish for that.”

I fucking loved Bree. She is a pallas as well as an omega with such a I don't give a fuck and badass attitude. She has been dealt such a shitty hand with her parents dying and fate giving her a psychopath for a mate, but she stays strong through that and all the shit that happens to her in this book. And Alex? I fucking love this guy! He is a fucking wolverine and has that whole dangerous vibe going for him. Out of all the guys I have read in all of Wright's shifter books he's probably the most lethal and dangerous motherfucker and I fucking loved that! I now want more books with wolverine shifters because god damn!

Can we just talk about the Olympus Pride for a moment please? I fucking loved so many of these characters that I cannot wait to get more books from this series. And I just cannot with Alex's family. Just thinking about it makes me laugh. I love Alex's mother, Valentina and his uncles. They were all fucking hilarious! Mila and Alex's relationship! And I just cannot get over the siblings in the Olympus Pride. I mean Alex is claiming Mila tried to kill him in the womb! Haha! But I absolutely loved WHEN HE'S DARK and cannot wait for more books in Suzanne Wright's Olympus Pride series. ...more

Another spin-off, with a few cameos thrown in to make you smile.

This was an intriguing plot with lots of twists & turns, and it keeps you guessing - who is the bad guy?

Loved it.
