Shelves: urban-fantasy

Dead Witch Walking is ludicrously well written - excellent pace, characterization, universe building, etc. etc. Harrison is a gifted writer and created one hell of a character in Rachel Morgan. She had plot twist after plot twist - constantly revealing something new and exciting about this amazing universe.

This book deserves 3.5 stars from me. I enjoyed it, the plot & characters were awesome. Some things grated on my nerves, which is why I couldn't give it a 4. I don't care for this sudden, small interest in Nick. That came out of left field, I was fully expecting Rachel & Ivy to hook up. That relationship is still mysterious. I will definitely be reading book #2 as I read in reviews that the books progressively become better... ...more

This one has been on my to-read list for a long time, as I make my way through all the Urban Fantasy series' that were popular while I was busy reading YA Dystopian.

This is my second by the author, and I didn't really appreciate either.

In the case of this book, I'm not sure how much was the author, and how much was the narrator (who made Nick sound like a big dumb oaf.)

And Rachel gave off a big vibe of too stupid too live, and I have a hard time believing she ever adequately performed her job. ...more

I'm not quite sure about this book. It was good and it kept me somewhat interested, but not like some of the other series. Rachel is a witch and bounty hunter whom the tables get turned on and she becomes hunted by her own co-workers, or past co-workers. The kick in the butt is the reason why they are hunting her. Not because she skipped out on her contract, but because when she left Ivy, one of the best hunters at the company, leaves with her. Yes, they team up to do what everyone would probabl ...more
