Louisiana Bayou, by artist Bettie Jean Bordelon
description

★★★½ This is one of those books that I’ll probably re-read in a year or two and LOVE. Right now it hasn’t been fitting my mood, causing me to take forever to read it. Maybe the labyrinthine twists and turns of the Louisiana Bayou are the perfect setting for the Byzantine-like world that is presented in this one, book #2 of The Edge series. ***4.5***

This one was a lot of fun! I was kind of griping about not getting more of Declan, Rose, George and Jack (the central characters from On the Edge), but I really enjoyed this book a lot. I enjoyed this more than the first book in the series - On The Edge. I think because I cared more about the hero in this one. I really loved William. The creepiness of the villains also makes this a very interesting read.

I love Ilona Andrew's books. It's almost more than a stand alone novel. There are so many details and characters. My favourite things about the books are - Cerise, the very unique witty chemistry between William and her, Very weird and almost gross sounding monsters (these guys have some kick-ass imaginations). The only thing that dissatisfied me was the unnecessary post climax relationship conflict between Cerise and William. After all they had gone through together, I felt the trust should hav ...more
