I ordered this after reading a short story on it and had no idea what the story was behind the little demons with her. I found out in this one, obviously. I really liked her demons in this one and that is what kept me reading. I found parts of the story quite out there and the Wasteland part almost lost me completely and would have if I didnt like her boys (demons) so much.
But I did like them, in fact I may give the second book in the series a try just for them.

Really interesting premise with Maxine finding out a lot of her history the same time we are. The demons who are her tattoos by day and companions by night are pretty interesting and I'd love to learn more about them and their history with her family. I also want to know a lot more about Grant and his background. So I will definitely be picking up the sequel at some point.

I really wanted to like this book - the writing was excellent, the characters were fascinating, the premise was terrific but the result was less than the sum of the parts.
