I had a little problem with the book - I read the short story in the anthology "Hexed" first and so I knew that Mick was a dragon right from the start. I think it would have been more entertaining to keep guessing.
Anyway I really liked the main characters although I started thinking about Mick as - let's say difficult. (He kept disappearing and I hated that!)
As I said it was unfortunate that I had read the novella first - it took away a lot of surprises for me!

Shelves: romance, urban-fantasy, kindle

I really enjoyed this series starter. I've read Jennifer Ashley's historical romances but this is the first I've read of her paranormal/UF books as Allyson James. Like many first series books it took a little while to find its feet but once it got going I was totally wrapped up in Janet, her battles with her magic and her legacy and the relationship with Mick.
