For a first in series book this one was great. I tossed up giving it 4 or 5 stars, and finally went with 4 as I know this series will just get better.

Janet Begay, part Navajo, part goddess is a Stormwalker. This book is a mystery and a journey of discovery for Janet, who doesn't know who her mother really is. (Stormwalker power is actually from the Navajo side of the family)

The mystery is where is Amy McGuire; the Police Chief's daughter has disaappeared a year ago and they've exhausted all the

this was an okay book. Nothing spectacular and no character really stood out to me. The beginning kinda confused me because it introduces so many people from Janet's past and Allyson just describes who they are. I think they sort of come out of nowhere, i mean there's no prequel to this right? So i guess introducing the earlier characters could have been done a little better, it kind of seems like this isn't the first book in the series to me... but eventually, when you understood which characte ...more

When I first read the summary for this book I thought it would be similar to Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series but I was completely wrong! There is so much more to this series than the main character's, storm magic abilities.

Every type of supernatural creature makes a small appearance in this book, except for Fae but I'm not going to say they won't be involved eventually. There is some Native American mythology involved as well.

Janet Begay, the main character, is strong, determined, and kno

I liked this story and the characters, so much so that it was difficult to put down. Janet is obviously the kick-ass heroine with a tendency to fry anything that she does not like but still has investigating and tactful skills when the situation warrens it. Jane, with her unfortunate mixed Navajo heritage has been an "outcast" for her entire life while fleeing facing her ghosts. Mick is the super alpha male that wishes to protect this damsel in distress.

I think the major problem for me was Sher

This book was a little all over the place for me. I didn't really connect with any of the characters including Janet.

Mostly I felt that the supernatural elements or beings weren't explained well. And I hate the whole, lets keep secrets from the person who has to make the big decisions, like lack of knowledge doesn't affect the decision making process.

I guess everyone was supposed to mysterious?? And the whole thing with her mother ended
