Plot wise, this is among my favorites in the series. We have a tortured hero, a fun loving heroine with some pain in her past and a good reason for the misunderstanding. I loved how he understood the reason for her behavior but still had trouble trusting her. Given what he went through, it was only natural.

Robert Petkoff was his usual awesomeness. I'm tempted to write an ode to him! May seems so far away to wait for the next book in the series.

Another fun installment in the ever-going Cole's IAD series.

Here we met Malkom, a vemon with major trust issues and Carrow, party girl with hidden vulnerabilities. Cole is know for her interesting mismatched pairings, and this is just another example.

I like the book, enjoyed reading it, though I don't think its the best of the series. Still if you are an IAD fan, you can't afford to skip this one.

This was a fabulous read, Cole at her absolute best, and this is probably my second favorite read of the whole series. I have to give her huge props for having a hero who suffered the particular kind of abuse that he did as a child--I have only seen authors willing to touch that subject matter a few other times. So often it's the villain who suffers that type of backstory, and even though this is a paranormal, it's wonderful to be reminded that some men DO triumph over their pasts. That said, wh ...more

For the sake of not getting all squishy in my exuberant praises of this book, and the series in general, I'll keep this short and sweet: Loved it, need more!

Malkom Slaine is vampiric demon, a tortured Alpha type of the Zsadist variety - kept as a blood slave in his youth, twisted in his adulthood. Carrow Graie is a warrior witch who feeds off of positive energy (go figure), sent to the demon plane Oblivion to capture Malkom for the sake of her adopted daughter.

This is the first book in this series I have read and I will read more The witch, Carrow although a strong women, is faced with hardships and monsters trying to kill/ rape her. Whilst she is stripped of her special powers she has to rely on Malkom, the vemon to defend her. I found that a little grating at times it was almost as if she was turned into the little woman waiting at home. However the premise of the Hot beautiful man willing to go through adversity even death for his woman can be appe ...more

When I reached the end of the book, I was perplexed because I thought, at first, the ending is missing. Oh man! Right now, I feel like incomplete. There must be more pages to read?!! Really, I don't feel like I'm done reading. No closure or something like that. This is just cruel! I neve liked cliffhangers! Ugh!
I'm just like this because I just love Malkom and Carrow! I've never read a more sensitive and scarred and tortured male from any of the Immortals after dark characters.
