This series continued to thrill me. It keeps moving forward In Gin's quest for revenge on Mab Monroe. Things are forcing her from retirement and forward to help Ashland and her friends.

In her own way Gin is a very principled person. They may not be the accepted morals of the upright members of society (Or is that uptight? Bye-bye Donovan), but she does have rules that she holds herself to and expects others to hold to also. That's how she lands in a mess in this book. I continue to enjoy this series despite the writing tics that drive me a little batty. I've mentioned it in previous reviews so I won't get into it again but there's a lot of repetition and it's still here in this book. However, I still like Gin, Finn, Sophia & JoJo. And the plot is really moving along. Although there's a story that wraps up in each book, the overarching plot about the murder of Gin's family is something that you'd need to read the books in order to appreciate. A lot happens in

This is the best of the Elemental Assassins books so far. I know it's only 3 books in but I was kinda on the fence before this one. I really didn't like what Donovan Caine did to Gin's head. I just couldn't get past how insecure he made this otherwise confident and bad ass lady. He mighta been the "good guy" but he was a total D.B. - fingers crossed that we never see his face again. I was going to give up after this book but it really surprised me. I enjoyed Venom and will be reading the next book right after. I know that there are complaints about the constant recapping of Gin's profession; however, it reminds me of the title character of the animated show Archer. So I just laugh it off. Although I do see how it could become annoying after three books, but I am looking forward to Tangled Threads. Here's hoping it is just as good or even better than Venom.
