What Members Thought

I have to say that I'm impressed. WEB OF LIES has exceeded my expectations this time around and I am looking forward to zipping through this series fast. I have come to love these characters even more except *cough*DonovanCaine*cough*, I didn't think an assassins life could get anymore exciting, but boy, was I wrong.
Our heroine Gin is retired or at least she is trying to stay retired, but being The Spider, the best assassin out there has been calling for her to get that excitement back in her li ...more

Not bad. More or less as good as the 1st book in the series.
The magic parts are better in this book, since she gets stronger, but that's only at the end of the book.
The romance... nah. After we had all that part with Cain in the previous book, he reappears here once again and they... do stuff?. But then towards the end we find out he's a real jerk running away with the tail between his legs after pissing on the carpet. Yup, that's my metaphor for what happened.
Anyways, I really hope he won't app ...more

The Good: Gin is back and we get to learn a lot more about her past and secrets. The bad guy is creepy as hell and it was great fun reading about Gin and her trying to save some nice people from getting killed. I love Gin and the fact that this series has a heroine who is an assassin, even though she continues to say she is retired hehe. Great action, awesome characters and a very exciting pl ...more

What an amazing book! I like this one as much as Mercy Thompson.
The first in the series, Spider's Bite, started SLOW. It took weeks for me to get 1/3 done. And then the Detective joined forces with Gin and the story took off. Kind of like when Curran met Kate for the first time. The world building was slow up until that point, and then everything fell into place and the story soared.
Definately start with book 1. The background helps.
