4 stars – Contemporary/New Adult/Rock Star Romance
I really struggled with this initially, mainly because I was uber annoyed with the heroine, but I ended up enjoying it. There’s lots of clichés and manufactured melodrama, but I liked that the H/h communicated about their pasts, insecurities, vulnerabilities, and issues, in between all their explosive sexcapades, that is, which there’s a ton (too much) of.

Oh boy, I don't know what to say - except, the NS world as I knew it has come to an end...
This story could have worked if it was a paranormal romance, but it failed big time as a contemporary. I'm afraid Ms. Singh was unable to shake her PNR muse off her mind when she was writing this book. Oh well, she's still one of my favorite authors, despite this misstep...
Note: I received this eARC from the publisher via NetGalley. That had no influence on my review/rating. ...more

The story of Molly, a reserved librarian with quite a few issues, and Fox, the bad boy lead singer of a famous rock band.
The two have intense chemistry and despite Molly's misgivings, end up having a one night stand, which turns into more. Fox seems to have developed feelings rather quickly, and I felt as if I'd missed something, as in maybe he knew about her from her sister, or fell for her before the start of the book somehow, somewhere, as things seemed to move a bit too rapidly.

***3.5***
This was a surprisingly straightforward romance. I think for the last 1/3 I kept waiting on pins and needles for a shoe to drop - the Big Misunderstanding - but there was nothing. Just a sweet story of 2 pretty damaged people trying to make a relationship work in the fishbowl life of celebrity.
Lots of sexy times - honestly, probably like 40% of the book - so I'm addition to my smuttery shelf. But it was well done, and again, all very sweet.

Mediocre rating because I expected so much more from Nalini Singh, being a huge fan of her PNR series Psy-Changelings. "Rock Addiction" is a steamy, contemporary romance between a virginal librarian New Zealander and a bad boy LA rock star that should have ended about 200-pages earlier than it actually did. I enjoyed the simultaneous side stories that were happening, that of T-Rex and Charlotte, and David and Thea. And the setting of course - being a Floridian, a New Zealand setting is pretty da
