Holy Cannoli this was good!

This is one of those books that you can't review without spoiling anything. Just know that it was awesome, full of actions, heartbreak and REVELATIONS!! And Julius ROCKED!! (I'll steal from myself and just use the gifs from my original read in 2017.)

The Golden Emperor arrives (and yes, we find out what happened in China!)

We are nearing the end of this series and many secrets are revealed.

What I enjoyed:

This took forever but that was mainly due to life, not the book. I have to admit that it started a little dark, with death and loneliness and existential crises. But soon enough the characters that I love got through it and the book lightened up. It's still a different tone from the first couple, there's a lot more at stake and the plot in general is heavier but it's still got a good amount of humor. I think the next book is the last in the series and as this one ended with some larger plot line ...more
