Shelves: young-adult-fiction

While the story was interesting, it was just not my cup of tea. I finished it, wanting to find out what happens, but the story seemed to drag on. There were several times that I hoped the story would end at thay moment, but it kept going on. I will definitely stick with fantasy/Sci-fi.

I have no clue what I just read. I enjoyed the beginning...somehow it went all kinds of crazy after that.

I am somewhat disappointed in how this story progressed. It had so many good and interesting elements that initially made me wait for this book in anticipation. The book started off very well, Lady Witmore was the ambitious yet stifled Countess, who wanted to make her own choices, she came up with a plan to escape a fate she did not want. However, so much more could have been done... (view spoiler) I am somewhat disappointed in how this story progressed. I believe this is the first in a series, but I do not see much character development or a further story for Cedric/Adelaide. So perhaps, sequential books will be about other characters. Maybe will see Tasmin's and Mira's side of the story. Perhaps this book was more for setting the stage, to foreshadow sequential books in the series (not very well, but I digress).

I don't know how many people will see this review (more like a rant of my dissatisfaction) so I will end with this: I look forward to the next book in the series, not so much in anticipation, but to see if I get the answers I am looking for.
