Another Maggie Stiefvater book leaving me wanting more more more. I breezed through this book in record time. I couldn't get enough. I desperately wanted to know what was going to happen next and what was holding all the pieces of this story together. I think that is what I like best about Stiefvater's writing. In typical Maggie Stiefvater fashion, the writing in this, the third book of the Raven Cycle series, was just so good that it took my breath away at times. I just don't know how she gets such a flawless flow in the dialogue and descriptions. As Blue, Gansey, Adam and Ronan get closer to finding the sleeping king though, there were aspects of the story which lost their way a little and which I just wasn't convinced by. In particular, I kept expecting to discover that Gansey was somehow older than

“I see things.” Adam’s eyebrows formed either concentration or uncertainty. “More than one thing. It’s like — like the animals at the Barns. I see things … sleeping.”
“Dreaming,” Persephone agreed.
As soon as he’d called her attention to the sleepers, they came to the forefront of her consciousness.
“Three,” she added.
“Three what?”
“Three in particular,” she murmured. “To be woken. Oh, no. No. Two. One should not be woken.”

Thankfully this series is finally becoming a bit more comprehensible. The plot really moved and I was excited to see the crew make more discoveries on their path to Glendower. I particularly loved the side characters in this book, especially Jesse and Piper. There was a lot of setup for some big showdowns in the next book and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

3.5 stars. Slow going, but I am interested in the characters and curious what will happen if they find the king. Of the three: Wake one sleeper and don't wake one sleeper. Am I the only one who worries about how you know which one to wake and what you are to do with the 3rd person?
