Quite engaging story with a few very interesting ideas.
I listened to the audiobook, so I didn't have the problem many readers had with the book - being distracted by grammatical errors in the story - and got a sufficiently growly narration instead.
I am looking forward to reading more stories set in this world the author has created, starting with Wray next (although it feels like a step backwards since it's Wray and Kim's story that we already know has a happy ending since we saw it happen in th ...more

Someone gave this book a really great review on Audible, and the blurb made me curious enough to purchase it on B&N. I love sci-fi books and this sounded like it would be good. It was. The storyline had a little bit of everything, including suspense. I loved the characters and could relate to their actions and motivations. The only drawback was the lousy editing. Now, I'm no grammar Nazi and hate it when my books' errors are highlighted by reviewers. However, this story had more than your averag

A fun start to an Alien Romance Series with Mars Needs Women tropes. I like very much that the heroine has ties and her childern come first. The insta love is a little hard to take but this aspect of the story is made better with the supernatural elements.
The hero is sweet and the clash of culture engaging.

Excellent sci-fi romance marred by a complete disregard for a good editorial run through. If you can survive the use of "on slot" for "onslaught" and other grammatical errors that make you wince, then read away. Otherwise, as enjoyable as the storyline is, parts of this book were just painful to read.

As many reviews point out, this book has a lot of grammar issues. However, I chose the audio and they are less noticeable. There still were a few mistakes where the tense changed and you can tell some parts were rerecorded. However, I really enjoyed the sound effects. I don't think I've "read" many audiobooks with such. The sounds of doors swishing open, swords clashing, running water, cutlery during dinner, etc... really added ambiance to the story. In all, not a perfect book but still an enjoy

While I did enjoy the story, the editing wasn't the greatest, but for the most part I was able to get past that. It really reminded me of Jaid Black's Trek Mi Q'an Series. I would rate it at 3.5 if I could.
