A little confusing at the beginning since it started with new characters, but what a diabolical plot was planned.

Lily and Rule are in DC with Ruben as Lily is on medical leave due to learning mind-speak with Sam and is suffering from hallucinations occasionally. But then she is asked to go to Ohio without Rule and finds a body and then disappears. Rule is having troubles of his own as he is framed and under house arrest.

I had a little bit'o trouble getting into this one initially - maybe it was the time of year. Either way, I am lovin' this series and, as excited as I am to have caught up on the series in 2016, I'm sad I've reached the point where I'll now have to wait for releases along with everyone else. Thankfully, I do have the latest book, Dragon Spawn, resting patiently on my kindle. But, it has been so nice having all the books on-hand, ready to be opened at any time. *sigh*

Lily is on medical leave due to the hallucinations caused by mindspeak with Sam the Dragon. So Lily & Rule go to DC to meet with Reuben, Head of Unit 12. Sam sends a message that Lily should go to Ohio but Rule should stay in DC.

From there all hell breaks loose. Arrests, kidnappings, disappearences & an egomaniac NSA bureaucrat, with a minor charisma talent who thinks only he should be in charge of supernaturals, including the dragons. He doesn't care who is collateral damage.
