I struggled through this book. I am excited about a reset of the series and those new aspects were the saving grace for me. I am looking forward to new set of characters.

I liked the hero and the heroine but because they were both new to the world and so many new factors were introduced the romance took a major hit. It was a good action paranormal but not a great love story.

Well I certainly haven't read a Kresley Cole book in quite a while. It was great to get back into the Immortals After Dark Series. SWEET RUIN was a great addition to this series, but I had my issues with the book.

SWEET RUIN follows Rune the Insatiable who is apart of the Møriør and his latest mission, take down the oldest living Valkyrie, Nix. Yeah, good luck with that. Along his mission he meets, Josephine who he is infatuated with. Now the problem is Rune never does relationships, he wants on Well I certainly haven't read a Kresley Cole book in quite a while. SWEET RUIN was enjoyable and quite the read. I loved Josephine because she was a breath of fresh air. I loved her attitude and personality. Rune on the other hand, he is everything you would want in a male.

But he was so against being only with Jose when it was obvious they were mates and when he got jealous and so protective and obsessed with her. And it was so freaking frustrating. And there was a point in the book where they are mated and the day after he plans on having sex with someone else to get information for his mission.

And he said such ridiculous things to Jose that I was screaming, "what the fuck is wrong with you?" First of all, you don't want your mate to be with anyone else, but that doesn't apply to you? really, asshole? And another thing, once you've found your mate you would never even consider fucking another female because she would be all you want and to risk losing your mate over it?

It was just so unrealistic that would happen. Maybe the stuff that happened in his past fucked him up, but still that no excuse in my book and even if he didn't go through with fucking the woman, I wish Jose wouldn't have forgiven him, because I sure haven't!

Like I said, SWEET RUIN was a good read and a lot better than a lot of Kresley Cole's last few books, but the hero of story ruined the book for me for this stupidity and asshole ways! But I was really taken with this new group, the Møriørs. I look forward to more character's books from that group and it looks like my prays are answers because Sian's book is next! Woot! Ok, first of, this three stars shouldn't be compared to any other three stars given to other paranormal erotica-romance books out there, because Kresley Cole is in another category, in good, if sparce, companym but detached from the bulk of erotica.
Her female characters are well rounded women who take shit from nobody and Jo here is no exception. Nix is still awesome as usual.

What an amazing addition to this series! I loved that there are some new players in town, but missed seeing some of the old gang...the teeny, tiny bit at the end doesn't count! Rune and Jo are both fierce, independent characters...it's a wonder they ever managed to get together, but together they got! Neither character had a good past, but both prevailed to get to a turning point in each other's life. I'm interested to see where the Møriør fit into this world...they have the potential to be seri ...more
