The Mercy Thompson series is definitely one of my favorite urban fantasy/paranormal series out there right now. Even now -- on book 9 -- the stories remain fresh and interesting and Mercy continues to grow as a character.

It definitely made my day to get a copy of this arc! I'd been looking forward to this book and dove in the day I was approved. I was glad to see that this book centered more around the "fae" (which I prefer) than the "were". We finally get more insight into Underhill and the Gr ...more

Mercy and Adam

Although there was plenty of plot regarding the Fae the whole story read more like a textbook on Werewolf Pack Bonds.

Not my favorite Mercy Thompson book.

Quickie Review:

The Good:
Aiden, Sherwood, Baba Yaga... 😍
The story was awesome and the pace perfect :)

The Bad:
I wanted more interaction between Mercy and the pack

The Romance:
Mercy and Adam continue being relationship goals!

This was an improvement from the last book. Finally the pack fully accepts Mercy as one of their own. That constant pettiness and disrespect toward her was really, really aggravating. Let's hope it continues since that respect has been hard won. This opens with a troll invading their territory and a proclamation that Mercy makes. Zee and Tad are back. This felt more like I expect a Mercy Thompson book to be.

Mercy & Adam together, the pack being a pain but there, and then there was the troll! The troll on the bridge ...... eating people and playing with the cars.

The Gray Lords of the Fae, some of them at least, want something and they start by using the Troll.

Whilst Mercy & the pack take out the Troll, Zee, Tad & another turn up. Aiden, looks like a 10 yr old kid but is in fact a Changeling (in the Fae sense) and he has become Fire Touched.
