I always enjoy revisiting the world of Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman! I read this over the Easter break and really enjoyed it. Mercy and Adam are still #relationshipgoals for me. Trying to not get too spoilery in the details but I'm happy with what Adam finally did in terms of the pack and their interactions with Mercy. I definitely want to get some insight into Bran's thinking (hopefully in the next Charles/Anna book?) and I'd really love for there to be a scene between him and Mercy. Now I ...more

I really like how Mercy has evolved as a character. Also the monster in this installment was really cool, and the plot had a really good angle.

I'm not sure what happened, but this was my least favorite Mercy book in the series. The story starts off with a bang and a troll but fell apart shortly after that. There was too much talking about what was happening instead of just showing us. The pacing was off with long sections spent explaining Fae politics, names and backstory, while the main plot was resolved at the very end and took 54 minutes-I was listening-to wrap.
