OMG!!! I’m totally blown away by this series. Jane is a fantastic character and Beast is absolutely hilarious and a perfect counterbalance to Jane’s personality. I happened to listen to this in audiobook format and Khristine Hvam’s narration is just spot on for me. She effortlessly moves from one character to another and each character’s voice is distinctive.

Throw in were and vamp issues since there's a delegation of the former visiting the latter. Jane's caught in the middle as Leo's new employee.

Thoughts on this Book
I like the complex vampiric politics that Jane has to maneuver through to get to her target. There are so many secrets to delve into, and most vamps tend to clam up rather than help her. Interesting. A few of my friends felt ambivalent about this book because they weren't sure where the story arc was going. Myself, as long as the story is good, characters act "in character" and I'm left with a good feeling, what more do you need?

Jane is learning a lot more about vampire history & indeed, finds out there are weres. Still no real info on skinwalkers though.
