08/05/2022: Reread on audiobook!
This year I have been going back to reread some of my favorite popular young adult series from "back in the day". I honestly thought that my feelings may have changed since my reading tastes are broader than they used to be. I am glad to say that I was just as enamored with this book this time around as I was the first time that I read it.

I started this series in 2016 and I never actually continued reading it because I found challenges on Goodreads and couldn't get the rest of the books to fit. I'm finally going to finish this series if it kills me to do it. I loved Cinder but I loved Scarlet so much more. I love Thorne and Wolf and of course Iko is still one of my favorites. I love when books have these cooky side characters that are pets or AI's or anything like Iko. I can't wait to continue on in this series fina ...more

I loved this book I didn't think it could be better than Cinder. So much action and threads coming together showing a bigger picture of what's happening. Cinder is my favorite character it's great seeing her figure things out. To see her trying to do the right thing and deal with hard choices. Scarlet and Wolf were great additions to the series I liked their chemistry. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

If you’ve been reading my reviews, you know I have no love lost for the YA genre. Having said that, I don’t look upon it as something childish. Instead, it irks me when authors think their target audience is stupid enough to not catch the literal stunts they pull. Teenagers are anything but dumb and teenagers who read even more so! To summarize, I’m always looking for YAs that break the mold.

I Stayed up all night to read this one.... ALL NIGHT!!!!
i love fairytale retellings and this is no different.
I think it could get a bit confusing if you have never read Cinder
.
However the story is quite easy to follow... note to self must re read cinder .
I read this in one sitting,( as i previously mentioned) due to it being a book that was very hard to put down.
might try listening to the audiobook next time, to see if it is still that addictive. ...more

This series has taken me by surprise. I enjoyed cinder and I thought I would enjoy the subsequent books as well but what I didn't expect was how much I would love it. I liked the world building, the new characters, the old characters, the fairytale references..absolutely everything. kinda pissed that the next book release is so far away. what a great way to retell our beloved fairytales..ps I love that the fairytale princesses in the series don't need a prince charming to come charging in.. they
