This is amongst the best-written encyclopedias ever. While some may question Herbert's decision to dramatize the history of Arrakis, doing so makes this important point much more accessible and helps with understanding of the current galactic political situation.

This book definitely holds up. I was almost surprised at how much I enjoyed re-reading this after many years. I thought i knew it scene by scene but was still caught off guard by its power.
