What Members Thought
Nope. Still hated it. The author's politics aside, I also disliked the main character, didn't appreciate his inexplicable "specialness," and thought the whole thing was rather simplistic. The fact that this is a kids' book is no excuse. I did chuckle to myself throughout the "Hunger Games" trilogy, thinking, "This is so YA." But at least her "specialness" was explained, justified, and well-exploited. There's no real proof of Ender's super-intelligence, but it's repeated ad nauseum like we're bei
