I have to admit that I feel in love with this series from page one and it has been a solid relationship between me and Faythe’s world ever since.

I have to admit that I feel in love with this series from page one and it has been a solid relationship between me and Faythe’s world ever since.

Fayther is a werecat and when we meet her in Stray, she has left her fiancé and her life in her Pride behind in pursuit of living a normal life as a college student and not have to deal with the pressure of being one of the few Tabbys {female werecat} in the United States and having to get married and have babies.

See, the thing is, in Faythe’s world a Pride is passed on from mother to daughter, but the Alpha is the man with whom the daughter marries. Because of the power that the job entails, there is a lot of political maneuvering and it is very rare for a Tabby to get married for love.

Faythe’s parents are one of the few exceptions and Faythe herself will not accept anything else. She does love Marc, the man she has chosen as her own at an early age, but she wants to escape the political and familial pressures of the Pride, so she runs off to try and get that “normal” life she has being vying for.

A lot happens throughout the series and Faythe’s world get turned upside down too many times to count.That emotional roller coaster is what makes this series so amazing though, and it’s impossible to deny Rachel Vincent’s talent when it comes to story telling and constructing a story and world such as the Shifters’ one.

I LOVE Faythe! Yes, she can be annoying, stubborn, hard to deal with, rude and infuriating at times, but her flaws are what makes her so lovable and believable in my eyes. She is also extremely strong, kick-ass, protective of those she loves, loyal and ready to fight for what she believes in no matter the consequences. All that more than balance out her annoying flaws, by far. She grows up and matures so much through these books that is a joy to follow her journey.

There is a romance in the series and it’s unavoidable to fall in love with Marc. He is the sweetest and most badass shifter, his love for Faythe is unparallel and if there is something that I really don’t like in the series is Faythe’s constant ambivalence towards their relationship. You just want to slap some sense into her sometimes and Marc’s willingness to wait for her is borderline pushover. However, their love is utterly believable and you can’t help but spend the whole series rooting for Faythe to get her act together, which becomes even more exasperating when Jace gets in the picture.

All in all, Shifters is a great Urban Fantasy series that has it all. An unique world full of wonders and believability, an awesome kick-ass heroine, a couple smexy heroes and a LOT of action. What can you want more in a book series? If you haven’t read this series yet, you seriously need to make up for lost time and get cracking! ...more

In author Rachel Vincent's third novel of her Shifters series Pride we pick up at Faythe’s trial.

In the last novel we found out that Faythe had accidentally turned her ex-boyfriend into a werecat, which is a death sentence. Seeing as she is female and said she did it accidentally though she is going on trial for them to decide her fate. Not only that but to make things worse, Andrew said human ex turned werecat is now dead, Faythe having killed him in self-defense. But t May have slight spoilers.

But to the council that is judging her it just makes things look even worse.

Faythe is facing a death sentence. There are three council people that she has to convince and one of them is dead set against her and the other believes every word he says.

Not only that but the mountain where they have met, free land, is being run over by stray’s and a couple hikers have went missing soon they learn that their ‘leader’ is trying to claim the land as his territory and is after a young tabby—a female werecat—to complete his ‘pride’.

I loved this book, the trial was pretty stressful and suspenseful even though I knew Faythe was not going to die—there would not be other books in the series if she did—but even knowing that it was still pretty tense while reading it which speaks of the author’s writing.

I was very shocked in parts of this book—happenings with Marc though I won’t say what—one has to wonder how things will play out in this line because we still have Jace there as well and though Faythe does not love him like she does Marc—I think it would be possible for the two of them to have a relationship if there was no Marc in the picture.

But Faythe does love Marc and he is in the picture but Faythe is going to realize in this book just how much she messed up in the last book/past and though it is mean to say and maybe a little unfair of me—retrospect and all that—but I kind of think Faythe deserves the hurt after all she has put Marc though.

The council man Malone, the one that hates Faythe so much? Man is he a tricky one not to mention a certified ass, but again he is tricky and pretty smart he has long term plans and has put it into play in this book.

Overall again I loved this book—Rachel Vincent is a wonderful author and I can not wait to start on the next book Prey. I also think I may try her other series, the Soul Screamers series? I have heard good things about them but have never picked one up before, I am not even sure I know what they are really about. ...more

Rachel Vincent is one amazing author. I love her books, and can not wait for each new book. Pride was another in the fabulous Werecats series. Faythe on trail for her crime of infecting a human by accident began the rollercoaster of this book. I am beside myself with the outcome of Faythe and Marc's unique situation. The introduction of a new tabby was refreshing in this book, also that she is a tabby with a nack for more trouble than Faythe was very entertaining. I will be anxiously awaiting th ...more

I rate this book 5 stars. This book had way more action from start to finish than the other two. I'm Really enjoying this series but,after a cliffhanger like that one I don't know what to do if Mark isn't going to be in the next one as much. I'm really liking him more so, after this book and I feel for Faythe she's trying real hard to grow up. ...more
