Books dealing with suicide have been big lately and I'm starting to reach my saturation point. (In the past month alone, I've read two - both very different but each excellent , More Happy Than Not and The Memory of Light.)
That doesn't stop this book from also being very good, it just makes parts of it blend together with previous works, at least in my mind. Other parts stand out as distinctly unique, like the alien abduction and end of the world scenarios. There are also plenty of poignant mom ...more

Definitely Printz worthy, more likely an honor book than the winner. I would like to see it win a Stonewall honor too. I love that the characters are still flawed and working on issues at the end and it isn't a sunshine and puppies ending where everything works out in the end. ...more
