What fun!

So many people have said they loved the 80s nostalgia the book brought out and all the references to video games, music, etc. that they had loved from those years. Not me. Not what you'd call a gamer, then or now. Thought 80s music mostly stunk. The movies mentioned were not among my favorites if I had even seen them at all.

I’ve been vacillating but I think I’ll go with a rating of 4.5. The multitude of 80’s references made me smile; it was great to reminisce. Some of the teenage boy language was a bit much for me but that’s a personal preference.

Wow. I can’t remember the last book I read that kept me up for past midnight because I wasn’t able to put it down. This was a book unlike any other, genuinely felt like I was in the OASIS; felt like I was inside an adventure. So much to take away from this book, so much it reflects who we are as a society. I was kind of disappointed with how it ended on something I perceived as a subplot, but still a remarkable book I won’t forget.
