Based on the reviews I've read, it seems as though you either love or hate this book. I'm in the group that absolutely loved it. This is a really sweet story about a magical circus. There is drama in that there are two players pitted against each other and a bit of suspense. I fell in love with the circus and would have quite happily been an attendee, over and over again. ...more

I was intrigued by this book and all the hype surrounding it. I fell into the story easily and had a desire to did out what was going to happen next very early on. I couldn't help but wonder how two drastically different people would develop and how the game they were bound to would unfold. I was a bit thrown off by how the book jumps from character to character and to different periods in time, but after awhile it seemed the only way to tell the story. Magical, brilliant, and gorgeously written. One of the best books I've read in a long time. With only a few cons, it was like stepping literally into a magical world I didn't want to leave. I loved every single character, no matter how perfect, plain, or sinister they were. Absolutely worth the holding wait at the library. :) ...more

I won't lie and say how great a book it is or how horrible it is either. It is a book you can love or hate. The story line needed to be better developed, but over all a pretty good read.
