Shelves: mystery-suspense, around-the-world, thriller, series, 2015-personal-challenge, river-sprites

I have never watched the movie, because I am a firm believer in the book first and the movie second. This book took me awhile, I am not sure why I struggled in the beginning, too much backstory perhaps, but I feel it was necessary for the rest of the story. I am glad I didn't' give up on it, once I hit the midpoint I could not stop reading. I will read the others in the series, and perhaps watch the movies!

I am leaving out the plot description in my review, not that I am lazy, I just figure it' ...more

Not as good as I thought it would be. Slow to get to the point and fairly slow even pacing except for a few bits where it seemed to suddenly mention something out of the ordinary and slip it in like it was just another fact of the story so far, despite them being important things.

I liked the mystery presented here. An old tale revolving around a forty year old mystery of a missing presumed cead girl. Henry has one request solve the mystery, so he can die at peace. Good read for mystery fans!
