This is a sweet middle grade fairytale retelling of "Snow White and Rose Red," about two sisters whose father disappeared in the woods and is presumed dead. The girls and their mother are forced to move out of their wealthy home and into a cabin in the forest, where they have no servants. Snow is quick to feel things, "wolf-hearted" as her mother calls her, while Rose, the oldest of the two, is "rabbit-hearted," and thinks things through before acting.
